We can supply any flag or company logo/trademark in flag or banner form for you with one of our hand made flagpoles. However you may prefer to trawl the net yourself to find a supplier, especially if you need a custom made flag where confusion can arise when a customer is not dealing directly with the supplier.

We tend to prefer flags that are made using applique techniques rather than painting or dying but this is clearly a matter of personal preference.

When selecting a suitable size for a flag there is a rough rule of thumb that can be helpful.

The horizontal length of a flag is known as the 'Fly' and the vertical height of a flag is known as the 'Hoist'.

So for a free standing flagpole the 'Fly' should measure 1 yard for every 10 feet of the flagpole. Thus a 25 foot flagpole should have a flag with a fly length of 2.5 yards.

Note this is an approximation based on the visual proportions of the flagpole and flag together as viewed from ground level, but it may frequently have to be modified.

If the flagpole is to be sited in an exposed site that has high prevailing wind speeds then it is advisable to reduce the size of the flag. This is because the flagpole could be subjected to excessive force and for the same reason it is not advised that any flag be raised when wind speeds are expected to exceed force 4.
