Pricing

Clearly price is an important factor when one is contemplating any purchase and even more so when the article is something that one will conceivably look at every day for a lifetime!

Interestingly if you were to ask any of our discerning customers whether price was the major consideration when making their choice, I think that they would say that aethetics, quality and confidence in the manufacturer were the prime motivators.

Even a cursory glance at this website demonstrates the meticulous care that is built into every one of our bespoke flagpoles and it is obvious that each flagpole is an individual item – they are certainly not mass produced!

We would respectfully suggest that if price is your most overwhelmingly important consideration then perhaps an individually crafted unique traditional wooden flagpole may not be for you.

Most customers specify a traditional 'bun' shaped cap but we are often asked to supply an 'ogee' style finial. We are occasionally asked to supply customised finials like the one for Turkey Farm above,or even a Spitfire for another special application and we are happy to discuss any of your individual requirements.

We use the highest grade kiln dried Oak or Douglas Fir timber from sustainable woodlands, which is then laminated to give amazing strength and flexibility. Our flagpoles will last a lifetime with some gentle TLC every 3 to 5 years.

Sample prices are outlined below but of course we can make any size flagpole. The steel tabernacle (typically £145), cleat plus stainless steel fixings (typically £15), halyard (typically £30) finial (£22 - £48) are all extras.
Engraved brass plaques are also available for £60

Most insurance companies will cover the costs of replacing wooden flagpoles on a like for like basis.

Delivery and installation can be arranged and the costs are based on your location. Assuming that it can be managed in one day, delivery prices are based on £0.40 per mile (for the return journey from Wiveliscombe near Taunton Somerset) plus a fixed sum of £150. (Note that towing a 7 metre trailer like the one above makes the journey times significantly longer than one would normally expect). Installation costs are typically £150 in addition to the delivery charge and include the cost of all materials and labour. Customers can avoid the additional expense of sending two erectors, by making sure that at least one fit person is available on site to assist in 'walking-up' the flagpole (see the installation section)

We make each flagpole to order which normally takes about 6 weeks from the time you place your order. If this seems a long time remember the old advice about never employing a builder etc. who can start work immediately. Obviously 6 weeks can seem a long time when your deposit appears to have fallen into a black hole so we offer a progress report service that many of our private customers tell us that they have appreciated. We can send regular emails describing the latest progress with attached photographs of the current state of work on their bespoke flagpole.

Remember that nearly everyone wants their maypole for May and their flagpole for St Georges day - so order early to avoid disappointment.}
